The DVD also contains a number of extras, including my video interview with the duo made for TateShots in 2008, which focuses on their series Twenty-Six (Drawing and Falling Things) 2001.
I'd been a fan of Harrison and Wood's work ever since seeing their exhibition at the John Hansard Gallery back in 1999, so it was really quite astonishing to visit them in their studio and hear the stories behind the work- and it's a bit of an honour to see the resulting film on DVD.
The Whitechapel Gallery is hosting a series of exhibitions featuring work from the Government Art Collection. The latest instalment sees work (including Margaret Carpenter's portrait of Ada Lovelace) taken from the walls of 10 Downing Street, and was selected by a group of non-political staff there. The exhibition includes a film I made of the process, giving a glimpse inside No10 at the art and people within.
Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller's new exhibition 'Joy In People' opened last week at the Hayward Gallery in London. Now you can join Jeremy for a cup of tea at Valerie's Cafe, hide out in his parents' downstairs loo and meet his melancholic friends in this film made specially for the Art Fund.
On Tuesday night I attended the opening of Yayoi Kusama's new exhibition at Tate Modern, and asked guests what they thought about the work of one of the world's most intriguing living artists. Yinka Shonibare, Wolfgang Tillmans and Bob Geldof all stopped for a chat, and we joined the throng as the lady herself greeted her adoring VIPs. The result is this film produced by Tate Media:
Working in photography and film, Gersht deals with the trauma of war and conflict in a way that is extraordinarily sensitive, and often seductive.
The films are two versions of the same interview. The longer version covers three projects represented in the exhibition: Chasing Good Fortune, Will You Dance For Me and Evaders, whilst the shorter film, with a little more detail on Evaders, was made for the Art Fund, who have a particular interest in that work.
A short film I directed featuring interviews with all four Turner Prize nominees - Karla Black, Martin Boyce, Hilary Lloyd and George Shaw (pictured), can now be seen on the Channel 4 website here.
The Turner Prize 2011 opens at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art from tomorrow, 21st October, where the film is also playing in a specially designed Turner Prize Cafe.
Pulp's Jarvis Cocker returns to his old school to take assembly in this film made for Faber and Faber, and shown on guardian.co.uk.
As well as dispensing his own brand of wit and wisdom, Jarvis sings some songs (including the first one he ever wrote), and returns a pile of (very) overdue library books. His acoustic version of 'Babies' is a particular delight.
The film was made to mark the release of Jarvis's book of selected lyrics, 'Mother, Brother, Lover.'
Vitsœ (manufacturers of the legendary Dieter Rams-designed 606 shelving system) invited me to make a film that goes behind the scenes of their Camden workshop.
As well as seeing (and hearing) the machinery used to manufacture and pack the system, we spoke to some of the individuals who put their name to each package.
